20.04 > 31.07.2018 | Fernand Flausch Retrospective

Renowned internationally at 25 years old during the São Paulo Art Biennial in 1973 and recognised in the Cité ardente for his public work of art, La Mort de l’automobile, installed since 1980 on a main road of the Sart-Tilman University campus, the Liegeois artist Fernand Flausch (1948-2013) is the subject of an important retrospective at La Boverie Museum starting 20 April until 30 July 2018.

More than seventy works from this multi-disciplinary artist will be exposed. They will address the different facets of this relentless creator who was initially influenced by Pop Art, American “Comics” and popular art (music, graffiti, street art). From the first comic strips to large acrylic paintings, works completed with airbrush to collages on canvas, creations using Plexiglass and neon colours applied to several projects in relation to public and private architecture; as well as urbanism, the works of Fernand Flausch did not stop shining on his home town, but continued in Brussels and other cities in the country.
