« In my practice, I combine painting, installation and performance. I use everyday life as a support at every level.
I also question the notion of a work's durability, through ephemeral paintings and performance art.

The sea has become an obvious theme in my work this year.

The sea as a horizon, present or absent.
Following a residency in Dunkirk, where I interviewed my father, who had recently become the founder of a coastal protection company, I had fun creating a fictional scenario in which the sea - as predicted by certain specialists - invaded all the habitable coastlines on Earth. Humans would be unable to see the sea with their own eyes, and would nostalgically create recreational beaches where we could meet up... or broadcast images of the sea on a big screen in 3D to recapture the sensations experienced on contact with it. The power of the ocean would be present in the memory, in the sketches of a retranscription...

Alongside this imaginary story, I collected objects found on the beach during my walks, which I then painted. I integrated the notion of "beaches" into my work.  Ephemeral beaches" that will one day disappear.

The installation on display at the Espace Jeunes Artistes is the result of my pictorial and reflexive research into the sea and the beach. »
