LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ELSE?
AN OFFERING ON THE PERIPHERY OF THE EXHIBITION

As the two parts of the Private Views project were being worked on (the catalogue and the exhibition), an idea gradually developed: to complement the project with a third part, one that would give young curators and artists the opportunity to question the very concept of collecting.

At the invitation of the curator, Maxime Moinet (an art historian responsible for the Art au Centre project for the Liège Gestion Centre-Ville non-profit) and Sophie Delhasse (n art historian) are offering visitors an artistic itinerary that complements the central exhibition, in the form of a sort of discreet, enjoyable and fruitful offshoot.

la bouteille : Julia Gault, La dernière pluie

Entitled Bankruptcy, this sees contemporary artists from Belgium and abroad take over La Boverie and question the relationship artists have with the idea and practice of collecting today, each in their own unique way. Can one exist outside the world of collecting, or even the institution ?

This itinerary on the periphery of the exhibition will signal a time for discussion, performance and activation on the weekend of 30 June to 2 July 2023.

This proposal sees 14 artists take centre stage: Arthur Cordier, Julie Gaubert, Julia Gault, Maria Vita Goral, Marjolein
